ACA Foundation Limited
ACA Foundation Limited was incorporated in February 2010. The new entity follows on from a Foundation structure which dates from 1998 and which existed within the structure of The Australasian Corrosion Association Inc.
The original Foundation structure was established to provide financial assistance towards the Association's projects. Support was received via donations from ACA members and supporters.
Projects undertaken by the original Foundation include the purchase of one of the units at the current ACA headquarters at 1/458 Middleborough Road, Blackburn in 2004 and the remake of the educational film "Turning Back Time - Winning the Fight Against Corrosion" in 2005.
In its new form, the Foundation focusses its activities on the provision of scholarships, awards for academic excellence, exchange programs which foster the international exchange of scientific and industrial expertise and the development of the industry’s future leaders.
ACA Foundation Limited has its own board and governance structure, maintains its own financial accounts and bank accounts and is recognised by the Australian Taxation office, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission and other regulatory authorities including the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission.
The Scholarship Fund of ACA Foundation Limited has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status conferred by the ATO. DGR status enables income tax deductibility of donations of AUD$2.00 or more.
