Technical Groups within the ACA are formed to provide a structure for technical activities within a segment of industry or technical expertise.
The ACA has eight Technical Groups (TGs) created from and formed for the benefit of Industry. For further information about each group click on the the title headings below:
The Technical Group Policy covers all the Technical Groups listed above.
TGs are formed to provide a structure for technical activities within a segment of industry or technical expertise. Duplication or substantial overlap of activities between TGs shall be avoided, however TGs may from time to time unite in purpose (e.g. running a forum on cathodic protection).
The purpose of a TG is to further the Objectives of the ACA, as underpinned by the Aim – to reduce the social and economic impact of corrosion. TGs support these endeavours by maintaining currency of technical knowledge through revision and generation of documents such as standards, technical reports, and other technical publications. TGs will disseminate corrosion information to ACA membership through the ACA journal or through technology exchange opportunities such as symposia or a Conference forum. Each TG is a Committee of the ACA and as such is fully bound by the Association’s Constitution.
