If you are an ACA member you may register for any training course at the member rate. If you are an AMPP member, you may register for any AMPP training course at the Member rate. If you are not a member, you may either register at the non-member rate or sign up to become a member – you can sign up to become an ACA member here.
Please complete the preassessment to ensure your knowledge base is established before you attempt the CP4 course.
No, if you fulfill work experience and education requirements for CP4 you do not have to complete CP1, CP2 or CP3 in order to attempt CP4. Although it is recommended that you complete the series of AMPPs Cathodic Protection courses in level order.
Please note if you do skip the previous levels you are likely to find it difficult starting at CP3.
Meet prerequisites as follows:
Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or engineering
6 years of verifiable work experience in advanced Cathodic Protection, including 4 years in responsible charge.
Successful completion of the CP4 course and theory CBT exam.
Approved CP4 – Cathodic Protection Specialist Application
Successful completion of the Ethics for the Corrosion Professional course or an equivalent training course.
Students who are unsuccessful on the theory CBT exam you can register with Pearson VUE to resit the exam at any time. Appointments are based on Pearson VUE scheduling. The cost for this is $285 inc. GST paid directly to Pearson VUE.
They must wait 30 days for a retake of the exam. If the second attempt is failed, you must wait 120 days after the second attempt. If all three attempts are failed, they must completely start over with a full course registration.
All AMPP students will have access to their results, details and certification through My Certification Portal – AMPP. Results should be available around a month from completion.
