The ACA office will close from Friday 21 December 2018 and re-open on Monday 7 January 2019.
It has been a busy year for ACA members with over a 100 ACA branch and technical events conducted across Australia and New Zealand.
Some of theses events were social for ACA members (and friends) with nibbles and drinks but the majority of events were highly technical corrosion events.
The recent joint NACE and ACA Maritime Corrosion event drew a dedicated group of corrosion experts to Far North Queensland just days after our Corrosion & Prevention conference in Adelaide.
The Corrosion & Prevention Conference is over for another year.
The Hipsters did not take over the Conference in Adelaide, as was feared by our President Hew Dent.
In Melbourne, hipsters are already well advanced in removing surface coatings to create ambience and that special hipster grunge look. Fending off the hipsters may be a lost cause in Melbourne.
The conference team is well into planning the 2019 Conference, to be held in Melbourne in November. It is already shaping up to be a great conference.
It is time to start thinking about next year’s Abstracts and Papers too. It never ends you know…….
Lecturer attacks Elephant
We held a CP2 course in Thailand this year. The course was very well attended and we look forward to a return visit in 2019. After the course, lecturer Kingsley Brown took on an elephant. He lost, but only sustained a minor injury.

Corrosion & Materials goes digital
There are so many new things planned for next year. One of these changes is that we will be moving the Corrosion & Prevention Magazine online.
The magazine will continue to be published with a strong focus on its core mission as a peer reviewed academic journal.
There is a huge amount of work involved in this and it would not be possible without our dedicated, passionate and tireless technical committee!
The website will go quiet over Christmas but if you feel the need to do some research or just peruse a paper, don’t forget to access the ACA library .
Your ACA Membership
We have introduced a new membership level recently – the
Diamond membership. This membership allows 30 people full ACA membership.
As part of the overhaul, we have also increased the number of representatives that Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum corporate members can include on their Membership
To access ACA training in 2019, an attendee will need to be an ACA member or be part of a corporate membership with a connected ACA membership.
