Wednesday evening June 24th saw over 60 corrosion enthusiasts gather to witness amazing footage captured by Chris and Allison Selman by whom have cleverly created a documentary called The Wreck Man. The story of Dr. Ian MacLeod, maritime archaeologist, and shipwreck conservator. In 2004 Dr Ian MacLeod was awarded the Corrosion Medal, a recognition bestowed by the ACA for his outstanding scientific and technical work in the field of corrosion in Australasia. Whilst in 2020 for his significant service to the museum and galleries sector Dr Ian was recognised with the medal of the Order of Australia.

The interactive crowd enjoyed the opportunity to listen to the trio who have a passion for the sea and a concern for its future. In the Pacific 300 oil tankers sit beneath the water with many destined to rupture as corrosion threatens to leak oil across the South Pacific. MajorProjects.org.au recognise the legacy World War II has left and needs our help.

The WA Branch would like to extend our thanks to Chris, Allison, Ian and all those who attended for contributing to this fantastic evening.
