The ACA is working on a range of events for the corrosion community in 2023. Members can expect more meetings, seminars, and the annual Corrosion & Prevention conference, to be hosted in Perth (WA).

Our organisation is also invigorating the Technical Groups and their incredible work in promoting education, collaboration and research among the group.

ACA CEO, Maree Tetlow, shared a letter with members, staff and partners, to communicate the changes and how they will positively impact the work in the corrosion industry.

Dear ACA members, partners, and staff,

Thank you for your patience in 2022 as the ACA has been through significant turmoil with recent serious illness at the leadership level, and staff changes during the middle of the year. The good news is that we now have a high performing team staffing the ACA to provide some excellent benefits and initiatives to members in 2023.

In 2023, we will be invigorating our Technical Groups, which represent the needs of the individual, institutions, the community, and companies that are engaged in the corrosion sector. Technical Groups are vital in sharing knowledge, education, collaboration, research and identifying public policy where the corrosion industry and its sectors can contribute to the sustainability of infrastructure and other assets.

As a member you are encouraged to participate in their meetings and events, and contribute and benefit from the interactions. The ACA has the following Technical Groups that are active:

● Applicators Group
● Cathodic Protection
● Coatings Group
● Concrete Structures
● Oil & Gas
● Water and Wastewater

New Technical Groups are also in development around renewables, defence and other areas of growing importance. Technical Groups and ACA management will also be more active in contributing towards standards next year. It is the official standards (Standards Australia within Australia) that determine the quality of our products and processes.

If you have any interest in joining a Technical Group or learning more, please let Frances Marsh-Paaki our Event & Membership Coordinator know at frances.marshpaaki@corrosion.com.au and she will put you in touch with the right contacts.

There are plenty of other activities planned at ACA including our 2023 Conference in Perth in November next year, and of course our branch events are being planned for 2023. We already have a broad range of training on offer on our website through to September 2023. We are also investigating and planning for new training courses. We’ll let you know more about that soon.

We have our new Customer Relationship Management system being implemented from 19 December – so we will be in a much better position to communicate and liaise with you from January next year.

Once again thank you for your patience, and I would welcome any direct feedback you may have for me. In the meantime have a joyful and restful Christmas and New Year and let’s plan on a more dynamic and successful 2023 together.
