A Technical Specification has been prepared by Standards NZ for corrosion protection of structural steel-work exposed to the New Zealand atmospheric and non-atmospheric environments.
This new Specification is intended to be used to satisfy the durability requirements of the NZ Building Code Clause B2, and the New Zealand Transport Agency Bridge manual.
It is also to be used in conjunction with AS/NZS 2312:2014 Guide to the protection of structural steel against atmospheric corrosion by the use of protective coatings, AS/NZS 5131:2016 Structural steel-work – Fabrication and erection, and AS/NZS 5100.6:2017 Bridge design – Part 6: Steel and composite construction; as well as the NZ Transport Agency Guide, Protective Coatings for Steel Bridges.
Note that comments close on 16 October 2017 (and that our Raed El Sarraf is on the TP 3404 committee representing the ACA).
