Hello All,

I trust you and your families are safe and healthy. Just wanting to provide an update on where we are and what is happening with the Qld Branch committee during the current restrictions.

We were able to hold our 2020 AGM at Easts Leagues Club in March prior to restrictions on public meetings. Minutes for this meeting will be released once available. We held our April meeting via Zoom on the 6th of April. Minutes for this meeting should be released to the committee towards the end of the week.

As you can appreciate, coronavirus has impacted our planned activities. The site visit to Industrial Galvanisers in March had to be postponed and the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show scheduled for May was cancelled. The regional event with the coatings group in Gladstone and Mackay originally scheduled for June will no longer be taking place in its intended format. Stay posted for more information as it becomes available.

We would really appreciate your thoughts and efforts in trying to arrange some new activities as we move forward with our new reality. Any suggestions for presentations (talks demonstrations etc) that can be posted on the ACA website or streamed as a webinar would be greatly appreciated. Please contact ACA Head Office.

At this stage, it would appear that our May meeting (11th May as the 4th is Labour Day Public Holiday) will also be via Zoom. Please advise what time is most suitable.

We brought the meeting time forward for the April meeting from 6pm to 5pm for the April meeting. This was done as most people were working from home and we were not providing meals.

The Qld Branch committee is still going and we want to engage with our members.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Murry McCormick
ACA Qld Branch President
