Oscar unintentionally stumbled into coatings and corrosion when his dad (who worked for a coating manufacturer) though that it was a good idea for him to take on a summer holiday job in a wholesale service centre after the colour technician got sacked. The company offered free technical courses and asked him back every summer holiday throughout his college years and snapped him up to run a service centre as soon as he finished. In the 30+ years since, he has worked in a variety of industries in different capacities in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, South-East Asia and PNG and conducted more than 300 condition assessments and prepared more than 500 technical specifications for the protection of complex steel and concrete structures and the remediation of existing infrastructure.
