- Corrosion Experts
- Technical Groups
Dear ACA members and colleagues, the last few months have been incredibly challenging for us all, both individually and professionally, in adapting to this new COVID-19 world.
The ACA, like many organisations, has experienced significant reduction in our business activity, impacting our ability to facilitate planned face to face training and education programs, technical and branch events, production of the Corrosion & Materials journal and our annual Corrosion and Prevention Conference. These disruptions have resulted in a major decrease in our budgeted revenues. Given the fluid nature of the situation, the ACA Board has been meeting on a regular basis and providing prudent oversight on the management of the ACA resources, both financial and personnel-wise.
Focussing on the ACA HO management structure the board has evaluated a need for the restructuring of roles and responsibilities of HO staff to guide and negotiate the ACA through these difficult pandemic times, and into the future. Unfortunately, a result of this evaluation, several HO positions were made redundant.
The new organisational structure and new positions are as depicted below.
The team will now be led by Ross Boucher, taking on the newly created General Manager role.
Before joining the ACA in 2017 as Business Development Manager Ross held roles at Dulux Group as National Major Projects and Marketing Manager and later the position of Commercial and Contracts Manager – Heavy Industry.
Ross has over 35 years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry predominantly in the areas of concrete rehabilitation, concrete and steel protection and asset management in both sales/development roles and in operational management. Ross holds tertiary qualifications in Business and Applied Management along with corrosion industry-related certifications: NACE CIP Level 2 Coating Inspector, SSPC Concrete Coating Inspector & ACA / GAA Hot Dip Galvanizing Inspector qualification.
Ross is a well-known figure around the ACA and I’m sure many of you are already well acquainted. On behalf of myself and the ACA board, I wish Ross all the best in this new role and am looking forward to working with him and the rest of the team to see the ACA through this difficult period and onwards into an exciting future.
