Our Association owes a great deal of its success to the great work done by over 100 volunteers at any given time, who serve on various ACA Committees, be they Branch, Technical or Leadership and Governance Committees. Joining one of these committees is a fantastic way to create deep ties and enact positive change across our Association.

We’re currently seeking to expand the membership on a range of committees, so if you’re interested in any of these opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.

Current Committee Openings

Education and Training Committee

The Education & Training Committee (E&TC) is responsible for ensuring that the ACA provides education, training and certification programs that meet the professional development needs of our industry participants, essential to improving competency, reducing risk, and delivering quality outcomes in corrosion mitigation. The E&TC will support the vision and goals of the Association as defined by the Association’s strategic plan.

ACA Foundation Board of Directors

The ACA Foundation Ltd. exists for the purposes of advancing corrosion mitigation through education by providing scholarships, bursaries and awards for academic excellence. The Foundation also seeks to invest in future leader development as well as special projects targeting corrosion education in secondary education and the broader community.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is the newest of the ACA’s Board Subcommittees and is responsible for ensuring that the ACA provides opportunities for its members and stakeholders to successfully engage with the Association in the pursuit of the Association’s objectives. The Membership Committee has established three new Task Committees, the Membership Benefit Subcommittee, Membership Growth Subcommittee and the Technical Group Coordination Subcommittee to assist with the significant scope of its portfolio in this initial period and we’re seeking additional members for each of these subcommittees.

YCG Steering Committee

The Young Corrosion Group serves the purpose of organising and implementing activities of value for professional and personal development to young people and those new to the corrosion industry. We endeavour to provide a forum for professional interaction, support and networking. The YCG Steering Committee operates at the Association Level and is responsible for coordinating association-wide initiatives and supporting local branch YCG activities.

We’re currently hoping to find a YCG representative from Tasmania, South Australia, New South Wales, New Zealand and Newcastle to join this committee.

Queensland Branch Committee

Our Queensland Branch is currently looking for volunteers to take on the position of Vice President and Secretary of the Queensland Branch Committee.

Each of our eight branches is overseen by a committee of volunteer members who are responsible for coordinating local ACA activities and initiatives. Every new member is automatically allocated to their local Branch when they sign up with the ACA and these groups are the heart of our association. This is a great opportunity for some Queensland based Corrosionists to get involved at a local level.
