Hello ACA members and colleagues,
We hope you’re all holding up in these difficult circumstances. Like you, we are all following developments and announcements regarding COVID-19.
As you know, we have postponed a number of events and training course – this was prudent in light of government directives and the need to socially distance ourselves. We are still planning to host future training courses as advertised on our website, but we are realistic as to whether we will be allowed to do so. We are working on putting the training courses online in as timely a manner as possible.
ACA staff members are self-isolating from home in a bid to limit interactions with others, as instructed by state and federal governments #StayAtHomeSaveLives.
The office is ‘virtually’ open – calls have been redirected so if you have any queries that we can assist with, please do not hesitate to contact us via phone or email.
A number of annual general meetings were postponed last week, we are looking to work together with branches to find an option that suits them best. For our Technical and Branch Committees, please refer to our recent post regarding online ACA groups for solutions to continuing meetings remotely. This will be the new normal for the foreseeable future, but I’m sure teleconferences, Google Meets (and others) are not new to you all.
We’ll also be publishing a series of digital articles from the 2017 Brian Cherry Forum over the coming weeks. These articles are free to access all our members, the first of which, “Up to Date Overview of Aspects of Steel Reinforcement Corrosion in Concrete” by Warren Green, Frank Collins and Maria Forsyth you can read here.
We will continue to provide updates as developments occur, go well and wash your hands.
Kind regards,
Dean Wall
