Today is the day that the ACA and all other international corrosion associations remind us to keep up the fight against corrosion and lament the fact that ‘rust never sleeps’.

The degradation of private and public assets and infrastructure continues to have a major economic impact on industry and the wider community.

In Australia alone the yearly cost of asset maintenance is approximately $32 billion, with $8 billion attributed to avoidable corrosion damage (NACE Report 2010).

Our vision as the ACA, is for corrosion to be managed sustainably and cost effectively to ensure the health and safety of the community and protection of the environment.
