Corrosion Resistance and Deterioration Behaviour of Overlapping Layer Between Thermal Spray Coating and Heavy Duty Paint Coating

To investigate the corrosion resistance of overlapping layers between Al-5Mg thermal spray coating and heavy-duty coating, this study aims to clarify the deterioration behaviours of the cases with different boundary connection modes. The linear and ribbon defects were introduced to specimens, and the accelerated corrosion tests were performed. Besides, a laser focus measuring system was...

Stress Corrosion Cracking of Cable Bolts

In this presentation, Judy Turnbull addresses the results of the examination of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of both smooth surface and ribbed wires used in cable bolts. Judy Turnbull is a consultant Metallurgist with Bureau Veritas, undertaking component failure investigations. She has held this role since 2013. Judy has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering field, having worked in heavy engineering, hard rock mining, concrete, oil & gas and pipeline inspection as well as information technology.

Corrosion Challenges for Famous Structures

This webinar features speakers discussing some of the key challenges that corrosion can present and the methods that can be used to protect key structures. Organised by the ACA VIC Branch, discussions include the work undertaken to prevent the degradation of iconic Australian landmarks including Laser Cleaning using powerful ultrashort Pulse lasers of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from Dr. Ludovic Rapp (Laser Physics Centre - Australian National University and CP based Repair of the Sydney Opera House from Ian Godson (Infracorr).

MILES of PILES: A Symposium on the Care and Maintenance of Marine Piles

The marine environment is one of the harshest settings in terms of causing the corrosion of metal structures and components. The webinar organised by the Victorian Branch of the Australasian Corrosion Association focuses on marine coatings and technology to minimise problems caused by the corrosion of marine structures. We heard from three leading industry experts, Peter Dove (GHD), Kyle Fortune (Denso) and David Anderson (UCC) on issues and recent advances in this important area.

Corrosion Management In Assets – VIC Branch YCG

This webinar is aimed at university students and young corrosion professionals who are eager to learn more about corrosion and corrosion management in assets. Featuring three great speakers, who have many years of industry knowledge managing a range of different assets. This is an interesting webinar to hear from some experienced professionals and get a better understanding of what is involved with a career in Corrosion Management.
