Technical Presentation: Durability and Corrosion Risk for Construction Project Managers
Abstract: Protective coatings are critical for safeguarding industrial assets against environmental degradation, particularly in corrosive environments. This presentation provides project managers with practical guidance to ensure the successful execution of protective coating projects. It covers key topics such as liability and warranty, reputation management, managing responsibilities, risk management, contingency development, and case studies of coating failures. From a risk perspective, delayed manifestation often coincides with expiry of warranties, changes in asset ownership, and restricted access for investigation. At this point, rectification typically involves intrusive works, operational disruption and reputational impact. The content is designed to help project managers deliver durable, compliant, and sustainable outcomes.
