Dan Savage is currently the Technical Services Manager for the Protective Coatings business unit of Dulux Group Australia. With over 29 years’ experience in the industrial and protective coatings industry, Dan has built a career spanning discipline within coating inspection, project management, technical sales, product development, technical services, failure analysis, and technical leadership.
Throughout his career, Dan has worked at the intersection of coatings performance, application technology, and industry standards, supporting contractors, asset owners, and specifiers through both classroom and hands-on training. His experience includes delivering technical education in the field, developing technical publications and published articles, working on many industry technical committees to produce standards/guides/technical resources, and presenting at industry conferences.
At Dulux, Dan has played a key role in establishing and growing the Protective Coatings Technical Services function, upgrading application and surface preparation capabilities, improving failure analysis processes and reporting capabilities, and supporting the introduction of new coating technologies focused on safety, durability, and sustainability. He is also actively involved in advancing industry best practice through participation in Standards Australia, ACA, and AMPP.
Dan is widely recognised for his practical, experience-driven approach to coatings and corrosion management, with a strong focus on real-world application, risk reduction, and long-term asset performance.
