Through the ACA’s association with the Queensland Maritime Museum, the annual Riverfire spectacular (28th September) presents corrosionsists and their families an ideal opportunity to get up close to the fireworks and RAAF flybys. So close, in fact, it is possible to feel the heat of the fireworks from the bridges nearby. The Queensland Maritime Museum hosts the event amongst the historical ships including the HMAS Diamantina (https://maritimemuseum.com.au/) and alongside a strategic bend in the river offering wide views of the fireworks. A large group of corrosionists and their families attended the catered event on a beautiful evening in a historic setting in what is becoming a fixture on the Queensland Branch event calendar. Not to be missed in 2020.
