While modern coating formulations continue to advance, coating failures and underperformance can still occur when quality assurance and quality control are not given sufficient attention throughout a project.
This technical event will examine the relationship between coating quality, project investment and lifecycle performance, including the value of allocating appropriate resources to QA/QC. Drawing on real project data and lifecycle modelling, the presentation will provide practical insight into how relatively modest upfront investment can contribute to improved service life and better whole-of-life asset outcomes.
The technical presentation will be followed by an opportunity to network with industry colleagues and continue the discussion in an informal setting.

Technical Presentation: Why do protective coatings so often underperform – despite modern formulations? The answer isn’t chemistry. It’s quality management.
Abstract: The latest presentation from @RemedyAP introduces the 4% Rule of Coating Quality Management, showing that dedicating roughly 4% of project budget to coating QA/QC can dramatically improve service life and lifecycle economics. Using NPV modelling over 13, 30 and 50 years, supported by real project data, the findings show how a modest upfront investment delivers disproportionate long term value.
