The May Corrosion Spectacular was most successful with over 35 people enjoying the warmth of the Coopers Inn on an autumn night listening to 4 varied speakers.

Candice Blackney (Select Solutions) spoke first on the successful installation of ICCP in the Western suburbs – from initial planning and consultation to final delivery of the ICCP TR to the client, wrapped in a bow.
Bill Gerritsen (Auscor) spoke next, discussing the effects and causes of stray current corrosion caused by cathodic protection systems. Bill’s photos of unnaturally shortened star pickets and earth stakes raised many smiles.
Sarah Furman (AECOM) then followed with an interesting presentation on stray current interference on concrete structures, such as traction current from rail tracks and methods by which this can be controlled.
Ian Godson (Infracorr) finished the evening presentations with a discussion on big, and we mean BIG, CP projects Webb dock and BMA at Hay Point that Infracorr has been involved with.
The evening closed with a few ‘travellers’ and we made our separate ways into the Melbourne night.
