The Australasian Corrosion Association is deeply saddened by the passing of Mark J. Byerley, Sr. President & CEO Tinker & Rasor
For many within the ACA community, Mark was a familiar face, a trusted friend, and a steadfast supporter of the corrosion profession. His connection with ACA spanned many years through conference attendance, industry engagement, and his genuine commitment to supporting the people and organisations working to advance corrosion prevention and asset protection.
Mark’s generosity extended beyond his professional achievements. He was a valued supporter of the ACA Foundation, helping create opportunities for learning, development, and growth for future generations of corrosion professionals. His belief in supporting the industry and investing in people left a lasting impression on our Association and many individuals across Australia and New Zealand.
Those fortunate enough to spend time with Mark will remember his willingness to share his knowledge, his interest in others, and the friendships he built throughout our community. He was someone who quietly made a difference, not only through his contributions to the industry, but through the respect, encouragement, and kindness he showed to those around him.
The ACA Board, staff, members, and the wider corrosion community extend our sincere condolences to the Byerley family, and the Tinker & Rasor team during this difficult time.
