Peter Bock – President, Performance Polymers Group
Peter Bock is the President of Performance Polymers Americas, LLC, an industrial and petrochemical coatings and CUI mitigation specialist based in Houston, TX. He is a US Air force veteran and holds degrees from Tulane University and the University of Northern Colorado.
Bock has 44 years of management, technical service, inspection, specification and sales experience in oilfield, petrochemical and industrial heavy-duty coatings in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Bock has experience with on- and off-shore production, drilling and workover rigs, shipyard work, natural gas and LNG, pipelines, terminals, refineries, chemical plants and related industrial facilities. He is a recognised expert (SME) on carbon steel passivation and on mitigation of corrosion under insulation, and frequently teaches seminars on corrosion under insulation and related topics.
Bock is past chairman of the NACE Central Area Board of Trustees, trustee and past president of NACE New Orleans Section and past president of the Houston Coatings Society. He is a NACE certified coating inspector (CIP Level 3), a JPCL Contributing Editor, two-time winner of the JPCL Readers’ Choice Award and has been widely published. He has presented papers and symposia at SSPC, PACE, NACE and NAI conferences and at numerous regional and local coatings and corrosion control events. He taught the only NACE-recognized CUI mitigation course available in North America for ten years, was a NACE virtual spray machine course instructor, is an SSPC certified instructor, and recently taught the first SSPC Insulation Inspector course in Lima, Peru.
